Our Story

Cachi is a unique and personalised clothing design concept for todays women. Ethically run, we create timeless versatile clothes that become your wardrobe staples and stay current season after season.

Our clothes are designed with our customers in mind, we are always aiming to make them feel beautiful and confident in the clothes they wear everyday.

At Cachi, we create wardrobe pieces that will last. We believe in investing in well made and versatile garments that you will wear time and time again. We achieve this by individually hand cutting and making all your garments at our premises in Surrey Hills, Melbourne.

Our focus is to create clothes that don’t discriminate based on shape or size. All our designs are available in any size or can be altered or adjusted to your own personal requirements. This includes sleeve length, neckline, fabric choice and so much more. Our amazing team are experienced and always here to help you find your individual look and fit.

Cachi is committed to slowing down the fashion industry and creating a unique service. All our clothes are always 100% Australian made by our small team of talented makers, who are all paid fairly for their work.

We hand cut all clothes to produce very minimal fabric waste and most of our garments are made to order, which means less wastage and we are never left with huge amounts of unsold stock like many other clothing labels.

Our clothes are always designed to become staples in your wardrobe, we believe clothes should be loved and worn for longer than just a season.

Lynda

Let me introduce myself
My name is Lynda Smith and like most of you I have been a long-time customer and fan of Cachi. When I heard news in May that Janne had decided to close the business and retire, I was devastated. While being very happy for Janne and wishing her all the best, I couldn’t imagine my life without my favourite Cachi shopping adventures.
Being a designer/dressmaker/pattern maker by trade, I decided to ask Janne if she would sell her business to me in the hope of keeping the Cachi tradition alive. Fortunately, she agreed and after a lot of Covid lockdowns and setbacks we are finally ready to move forward.
I hope that you will continue to support Cachi. Please be assured that I do not wish to change the Cachi brand and all the great work that Janne and her team have done over the years. I intend to continue to offer you your favourite Cachi styles in the fabrics you love, while also introducing some new ideas to compliment the collection.
Janne’s amazing team of girls are continuing on with me so you will still receive the same level of personalised customer service which you have always received.
I am very excited to become part of this team, proud to continue the tradition of the Cachi brand being handmade in Melbourne and can’t wait to bring you some new exciting colours, prints and looks for Spring/Summer 21 and beyond. I hope that it won’t be long until we can welcome you back into our shop and resume having fashion parades (however they may be in a Covid safe future) but until then we will do our best to bring our styles to life online, on Facebook, on Instagram and on our website.
I look forward to meeting you all as soon as we can welcome you back instore but until then you may see me do a spot of modelling online very soon.
